I have been using Foo Gallery for a while and really love it, until now. I updated it and almost overnight all my thumbnails were blurry and very pixelated. Before all thumbnails were very crisp and clear. I have 300 res on my images and regenerated thumbnails, installed optimus to no avail my thumbnails look terrible and as I hope to sell images soon they have to look great any help appreciated. I took a screenshot of before & after but can’t upload here.

    Thank you

I decided to find another plugin as I can’t get foo gallery to work

So when you upgrade to 1.2.11 your thumbs become pixalated?

This must be a conflict with another plugin, because I have never been able to reproduce this issue. Please can you post your FooGallery -> System Info output here

    Hi

Thank you for replying I haven’t found another good plugin ?? I just did what you asked when I tried to get the system info it said “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”

I did also deactivate all other plugins the only solution was to restore an old back up before the update ? I also cleared caches etc….

    Thanks again

    Hello again

I still wish to use Foogallery as I have not found a better plugin after searching all day yesterday.

To date it only works on my website by not updating it i.e. as soon as I update it, it goes blurry. Today for some reason I was able to access my system info.

If anyone can still help I would appreciate it. I also tried to deactivate all other plugins and empty caches.

    Thank you

    Hi

Thanks for posting your system info. I have been looking at the info together with your site, and I think it might be a conflict with Jetpack, as the Jetpack photon plugin is being used at the moment for your thumbs.

I will try to replicate your issue on my side

    Hi

Oh wow if you can help it would be amazing as said Foo Gallery is still the best plugin i’ve found.

    Thank you

please can you turn off the photon plugin in jetpack. I had a look at your site and your thumbs are still originating from wp.com for example : https://i0.wp.com/www.hausofmdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Design-Gallery-Nadine.png?resize=150%2C150

Is there a way your can link to what you are seeing? When looking at your site’s thumbs they do not look pixelated. Perhaps take a screenshot and upload to an image hosting site like imgur.com and link to them here?

    Hi

Thanks again for replying I really appreciate any support.

I will try to explain what is happening a bit better for you as I am in no way an expert I am still teaching myself how to design a website via wordpress and plugins and a bit on code so forgive any ignorance on my part. This is all new to me.

First I have now updated Foo Gallery before I did not hence why it looked so crisp and clear.

Second I have deactivated the Photon plugin on jetpack and still no change, to me it still looks very blurred compared to before updating Foo Gallery and leaving Photon active.

I am unsure what it means when you say images are coming from wordpress.com sorry all I know is I set up a wordpress.com website and then paid for hosting through site5 and tried to follow their instructions to set it all up so I just assumed it is a WP site with site 5 hosting, again please forgive my lack of knowledge.

Anyway I have now left my website for you to look at with the updated Foo Gallery plugin and the Photon plugin turned off so you can see if its pixelated your end I know it does not look as sharp as before the update.

    Thanks again

I hope this helps a bit?

    Hi

I now look at your page, for example : https://www.hausofmdesign.com/design-gallery/ and the images are now loading from your local site, eg https://www.hausofmdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/cache/2016/05/Design-Gallery-Nadine/1209195747.png

The thumbs look good to me. What browser and OS are you viewing them in?
Also, what is your thumb quality set to in FooGallery Settings?

    Hi

Thank you again for the fast response.

Really? gosh they look dreadful to me so it makes it difficult designing my website ??

I always work in firefox I find it easier than google chrome and I truly dislike safari etc…..

I am OS X El Capitan

My images dpi is always 300 in Illustrator but thumbnails are all set at 150 x 150 in Foo Gallery this is the nicest setting

I also always regenerate my thumbnails etc….

Oh well that is difficult, if it looks great your end but rubbish mine as said it makes the thumbnail look awful and as I am still building the website up as it’s still in its early stages of design I then can’t decide on the look ?? etc…..

If there is anything else you can advise i’d appreciate it otherwise I will have to look at either another browser or something else…

    Hi

Just an update I tried to see my website on chrome and safari and its still blurred so I will have to consider something else sadly.

    Thanks again
