    Hello,

We launched my wife’s e-commerce website Galamarr some years ago, and most recently changed themes from Canvas to GeneratePress which we both love and prefer – no comparison! That said, we were quick to notice that the thumbs on most shop pages (if not all) display rather blurred although the originals are crystal clear when magnified. This was never the case when we were using Canvas.

A mystery and we’re in your hands if you could advise us on this one (please don’t have us re-upload all images, that really took countless days to do, and 80% of them were there from the getgo).

    Many many thanks,
    Ritchard

    Hi there,

    Glad you’re enjoying GP!

It looks like something is resizing the images to be 150px wide. However, they’re being displayed closer to 220px, which is why they’re losing quality.

Do you have Photon enabled in your Jetpack settings by chance? Might be worth disabling it just to check.

    Let me know ??

    Hi Tom,

Was great getting a response. I don’t see any signs of Photon mentioned in my Jetpack, and just now tried altering image width proportions in the ‘Customize’ portion of ‘WooCommerce’ under ‘Product Images’ from an aforementioned 300 pixels up to 850 which is the size displayed for a main image on single products to no luck.

It dawns on me that when I switched from Canvas to GeneratePress using Elementor Plugins, I went from a Boxed layout to a much preferred wide/full page one, and that might be the cause of poor image displaying. Don’t know, if that were the case, that I’d be willing to actually revert to Boxed: so dated with today’s wonderful spread out presence, you know?

If you have any ideas, I’m all ears.

    And thanks!!!

There’s definitely something altering the size of your images.

You can try deactivating your plugins one by one until you notice a difference. That way we can narrow down the trouble maker.

    Let me know ??
