I’m developing my new website on localhost, so no way to show you the problem live.

It looks like images are perfectly sharp when used as featured images for posts, but they are somewhat blurred if used into the body content of the page/post.

I’ve made some tests, using the very same image (so no changes, same image directly selected from the media gallery): perfectly crisp when used as a featured image into a post, otherwise blurred.

First I thought this was because I used some images at full page width in my posts, but the same problem occurs when I use the same image at a smaller size, no larger then the text column. I’m talking about images that are 1200×800 px, so no small images. No way to have them properly crisp, if not when they are used as featured images for a post.

The type of image doesn’t matter: same problem with detailed pictures (products etc) and with flat designs (logos etc).

Is there something in theme’s code (or in WordPress code) that changes the image crispness before using it on page, since I know for sure that this images are perfect in the media gallery?

    Thanks in advance!

I made a screenshot of a sample page on localhost.

    WeTransfer: https://we.tl/t-Z5Ns4YBBfP

If you look at the screenshot at 100% (1374 x 3326 px), you see the first image is perfectly sharp while the second one is a little bit blurred.

It’s the same image from the media library.

The first is the featured image for that page, the second image is used to show the problem. I don’t know why this happens.

And it happens with every image: perfectly sharp when used as featured images, a little bit blurred when used into the page. It’s true for “flat images” — like the one used in the sample page — and for detailed images/pictures.

Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Did someone experience the same problem?
Or is it really just me? I keep on fighting against this problem, I hope I’ll solve it sooner or later so that I can publish my website ??

    Thanks!
