blur effect on a website background

  • Hello everybody,
    I would like to create a blur effect on the background when someone clicks on the menu of my website just like on this website :

    any idea of how I could achieve this on my wordpress website?
    (sorry for my bad language, in fact I am french. I already posted this question on the french forum but no answer for the moment…)

    Blur effect on the background of what? The menu item? The large image of the grass in sand?
