• As the subject indicates, can’t seem to get the unordered list function to work. Ordered works fine, so does blockquote. But with unordered I simply get the “list” itself without any bullets. The theme seems to indicate in the screenshots that it is capable, but I’m clueless where to begin to figure out why it won’t and would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

  • Where did you get this Theme? I’m looking for a clean copy, but the only Google hits I’m getting are from sketchy Theme sites.

    Directly on WordPress:
    blue zinfandel

That link is not WordPress. That is a sketchy Theme-distribution site, whose domain name violates the WordPress trademark policy.

Ah, okay. I guess that what I meant to say was that the WordPress site has THAT link on it, for that theme, on that theme’s page. So…not wanting to get wrapped around the pole with something that wasn’t my issue, but I’ve gotta ask — why then would WordPress have it on their site’s theme pages as a link for downloading?

Added: Hmmm….perhaps I didn’t get it there. I just got started on Friday and downloaded so many themes that I kind of lost track which came from where and thought it was on WordPress. But I just went back to find the original link and am not finding it. I may have found the above link via a google search.

Is there a reason that this link isn’t on the author’s site anymore?

Where did you find this link?

Again: where did you find the page with this link? I highly doubt that it was an official WordPress resource.

    What “author’s site”?

    Okay, let’s start over.

I downloaded and installed Blue Zinfandel. The author/creator of that theme is listed as Brian Gardner (https://www.briangardner.com/). At his website there is a link for theme support, which then took me to this forum. I can find no mention of the theme on his site or through searching here.

Ah, okay. Now it’s starting to make sense.

It is very likely that the Theme is no longer supported by Brian. If I had to guess, my guess would be that “Blue Zinfandel” was a free Theme offering of Brian’s, from before he got into commercial Theme development (StudioPress/Genesis). I don’t know where the original Theme is available, if anywhere.

What you have downloaded is a derived, hacked version of Blue Zinfandel – not the original Theme developed by Brian Gardner. And if you found a clean, original version, it would by now probably be considerably out-of-date with the most current version of WordPress.

FWIW — what comes up on the Manage Themes page is: “Blue Zinfandel Enhanced 2.0” and “Blue Zinfandel 2.0 is a modern theme created for WordPress.”

So it sounds like I’ve got to go try to find something else. Too bad as it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for.

    (@drdan01)

I have found caches from his site that show that he was making it available on WordPress at least as recently as 10/1/09.

…he was making it available on WordPress…

I can’t find any trace of it ever being made available on WordPress. It’s not in SVN. It’s not en Extend.

    I’ve tried looking on BrianGardner.com, StudioPress.com, Google… I can’t seem to find a clean copy.

So how much would you like for me to tell you that I just downloaded an original copy of it? In both 2-column and 3-column. And I mean original, not from a hack site.

If you could point me in the direction of where you got them, that would be awesome! I’d be happy to look at the template files and try to help you figure out the problem.

I did download both of them myself. I found postings from him where he first introduced it, then with updates and fixes, and so on.

Wayback Machine archive of Brian’s site where download templates are available as they were directly captured from his site on 1/1/2008.

Also, FWIW, I just checked them against what I have installed and so far haven’t found anything that looks different in the code.
