Excuse my ignorance but just need to clarify.

When setting up multisite is the blogs directory to be created called ‘blogs’ or ‘blogs.dir’???

    Thanks for any help

Huh, never gave it any thought. On my setup, the directory created was blogs.dir.

Yes, maybe it gets automatically created if you don’t create it yourself, but from the codex steps to create a network:

    1. Create a blogs.dir directory under /wp-content/
This directory is used to store uploaded media for your additional sites and must be writable by the web server. They should be CHOWNed and CHMODed the same as your wp-content directory.

I created a blogs.dir file, and it has the same read/ write access as my wp-content folder. Files are being stored appropriately, but my site is showing it as a broken link. It shows it as a broken link for all child sites. Any thoughts on how I can fix this?
