Blogger.com publishing always at 0%

  • I try to publish post from blogger.com into wordpress. The problem is that blogger.com shows for hours only the message:

    Publishing is in progress
    Files published… 0%
    This may take a few minutes, if you have a large blog.

    Nothing more. It refreshes the page every 10 seconds but nothing happens. I followed the howto in import-blogger.php step by step and I have filled in the rigt username, password, ftp server, ftp path, blog filename. Blogger.com does not create any files on my ftp server, too. Why doas this happen?

    “Republishing an entire blog will sometimes get stuck part way through and not finish, though new entries can still be published normally. We are working on improving the database performance to fix this error.”

    I’d suggest waiting and trying at pick a time when Blogger’s db may have less traffic.

    I would suggest that you stop using Blogger completely – it’s service is less than good.

    Oh sorry, it didn’t showed up the post and it hanged.

    I have stopped using Blogger but I want to have my 1100 posts exported from Blogger and imported to WordPress.

    This is exactly the problem I am encountering as i help a friend move off Blogger and into a nice spiffy WP installation.

    The Blogger publishing screen just keeps repleating “0 percent” and won’t move away fromt it and no files are moved I’ve even tried FTPing it to a different site entirely and the same thing happens.

    Any advice?

    The exact same happened to me. When people (i.e. “howto” description) say, replace your “current Blogger template” with “this code”, they don’t actually mean it that way. They mean: replace only the part between the <blogger> tags and keep the rest of your template alive.
    Worked for me.

    Actually the instructions on the blogger-import page give the code for replacing your blogger template by starting and ending with <Blogger> tags.
    The line is a bit longer than the screen and I know of a case when the user didn’t copy the whole line, only what was seen on the screen ??
