• I attempted to import my blogger.com site into my wordpress space via the wp interface tool. It completely hosed my entire blogger site, mulching the code and turning everyting, including my archived months, into near-text only formatting.

I was really impressed with wp until this happened, but now I’m pretty disgusted…what a shoddy interface for something as huge as importing an existing site – I mean, it didn’t just import the blogger info poorly, it decided to OVERWRITE my existing code within blogger. I need to figure out WHY wp ate my blog and how to fix it.

Anyone have this experience before and know a fix or seven? I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    CR

  • If you search this forum you will find hundreds of resolutions to the problem of your template getting messed up. The import process has to change your template file in order to import the posts in a machine readable form. Sometimes it has problems restoring the template to the original. This is why you were instructed to make a backup copy of your template before you started.

Replace the template of your Blogger blog with the backup you made (or one of the defaults if you didn’t make a backup) and republish.
