• Hey all,

I think I may have just made a big boo boo. I just finished a new blog using wordpress and I tried importing my blogger blog over to it.
Everything started ok and I even got my January 2005 posts from blogger imported but then poof; it stopped. Now, my blogger blog is wacky. Is
there a way to fix this and retrieve all the data I originally had?

    The blogger url is:

    https://convolutedmuse.blogspot.com

    and the one is:

    https://blog.notso.org

I tried using a searc of the support forums but must not have used aprrpriate search tags in addition I looked at the codex but it mentioned scripts. I never looked for a script since there was an import tool in the WP dashboard. I realize this is a newbie mistake and may have been fatal in terms of my old data but I am hoping it can still be saved. Btw, I have tried looking for help from blogger with NO sucess at all sorry M**&&^%^ f&**(^^$, ok I feel a little better now. ?? Thanks in advance

    CM

I almost forgot…..this is the note I got when the import failed.

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I’m sure if you search this forum you will find many similar problems.

When WordPress is importing your blogger blog it has to change your template so that it can import your posts with as little extra formating as possible. However, if something goes wrong during the import and it is not able to reset your template then it might be left in a bad state, as is yours.

Just reset your template back to the one that you backed up before you started the import (you did back it up right?). If you didn’t back it up then you can just select one of the default templates to get something a bit more readable.

Also, sometimes the import process does not complete 100% the first try. When this happened to me I did it again and it finished.

to get your blogger account back to normal, all you need to do is restore the template (which the converter told you to backup prior to staring out the conversion…)
