Blog with searchable mp3s and manual registrant approval system?

  • Hi all,

    I’m quite new to WordPress so if someone could point me in the right direction I’d be grateful!

    I am setting up a blog for someone who has a catalogue of music.
    He would like users to be able to login and search the mp3 catalogue via genre & category and then download the track.
    He also wants to be able to manually approve each registrant.

    I’m guessing that I need to find widgets for the various elements, search by category, login functionality and download mp3’s..

    Does anyone feel this will be feasible without much php coding as I want to avoid that if possible.

    To simplify the above, does anyone know if there is a widget that will display a file list (mp3’s for example)..

    The user might simply select a category (maybe ‘rock’) and see a list of files for this category..

    I’ve searched but havent come across anything so far.
