• I noticed that when on my blog page, if you click a post to “read more” instead of opening the post, it takes you to my contact page. I had thought it was an issue with my blog plugin, so I contacted the support team for that application… they took a look and said that the issue still occurs whether their plugin is activated or deactivated. Which means I need your assistance…. please HELP
(ALSO, I made sure everything is updated to the latest versions) my website is https://marissaeveretts.com/

    Thank you

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
    – If all the above steps do not resolve the issue, then try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!

I tried everything you listed yet the issue is still occuring. I guess I now have to try manually updating like you suggested. However, I am not very educated on how to work wordpress. How do I back up my files?

I am really not educated with this sort of thing. I am very confused right now. Is there a support tech who can walk me through this? Or do it for me?

    – Sorry, but no one at WordPress or in these forums “fixes” websites. You are responsible for your own self-hosted site.
    – WordPress is free software and this free, volunteer-staffed forum is the only support resource available via www.remarpro.com. If you would prefer a one-to-one discussion, please try https://directory.codepoet.com/ or https://jobs.wordpress.net/

No, I am sorry. I didn’t realize I was asking for something above your capabilities.

I am learning as I am going when it comes to the different aspects of WordPress and assumed if I hit a wall, there would be some form of help that wordpress offers to those not familiar with codex jargon.
