I am a bit new to WordPress. I am trying to figure out how to have Blog Posts show up on an secondary page rather than the home page.

Most blog posts show up in the body of the homepage, but my client wants the blog posts to show up under a “Blog” tab, or secondary page.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks… Red

  • First of all, you have to set up a secondary page and publish it. From your dashboard, to to SETTINGS (upper right corner you’ll see “Seetings, Plugins, Users” links). Under “Setting” menu bar to to “Reading”
From “Front Page Displays” menu, select the second option, “A posts Page”. Use the drop-down menu to select the secondary page you created. Save and you’re there.

Thanks for the help. I did you what was suggested, but it seems not to be pulling up the blog entries. Also it is using the default template rather than the blog template. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…

Create a page called “Blog”…you can leave the content empty.

Then go to Settings/Reading and check “A static page”, then select any other page as your homepage in the first dropdown, and select your “Blog” page as the “Posts page” in the second drop-down.

The quickness of feedback on this forum is fantastic! Figaro, Thanks for the info. Oddly enough, I was getting a strange outcome setting up the way suggested. It kept bringing up the homepage template eventhough I had selected the “Blog” template. So I went back to Settings>Reading and deselected “blog” in the dropdown. Then bingo it worked.

Is that because there was a “Blog” template to choose when on the “Edit Page” area?

    Thanks for your help.
