Blog posts page customization issues

Hi @nomadicfrog,

The blog page should be selected in Settings->Reading->Posts page dropdown. If you have created a new blog page it should be selected there to show your latest posts.

I have set up the site like that, yes. And it works – new posts appear on the Posts page I selected.

My question, though, is why can’t I do anything else on that page? I can’t add any other blocks at all.

I can add text and graphics in the editor, but when I view the Published page all I see are the posts themselves (plus the site’s normal header and footer).

Thank you for sharing all those details. I understand the request, this functionality is available in the premium version of the theme, as the Custom Layouts module.

It is possible to create a post and display it on the blog page based on the locations defined there, called hooks. This post can contain any information that you want, it can also be a full-width section with a hero image or a banner.

Such an example is available on this page.
