Blog posts not featuring initial excerpt of text

  • Is this something that you just noticed today? If so, have you changed any settings or updated any plugins on your site?

    I’m not sure when it started happening, and haven’t made any major plugin changes that come to mind.

    Based on some research I’ve done, I thought Yoast SEO might be the culprit, but I’ve deactivated it, and no change.

    Another possible candidate is “Change Excerpt Length” plugin, but I’ve also deactivated that, with no change.

    I’m thinking it must be in the WordPress settings, but can’t find anything that brings the initial text back to the blog post.

    I Rechecked options in the reading and writing settings and there is not a setting that removes the first sentence from a blog post. I am combing thru the codex just to make sure but, I do not think it is a WordPress setting. This is gonna be a pain, but I think your next move should be to deactivate ALL your plugins one by one. :-P. If you still are having the same issue after all your plugins have been deactivated, we can rule out a plugin as the problem. Sometimes its the last plugin you expect that is giving you the problem, and some plugins don’t work together very well either.
