Blog post related variables

  • Hello! I would like to push into dataLayer few variables.
    1) Author’s name – I did it using GTM4WP
    2) Publication date – I also did using GTM4WP
    3) Number of characters in blog post – i cannot find option how to do it in GTM4WP

    Is there any possibility to push number of characters in blog post via GTM4WP?

    Hi @hardvy,

    No, there is no such option currently. The problem with this is that the content of a post usually includes lots of markup as well, HTML codes, comments that should not be included while counting.

    If you can find a proper algorithm that would do this, you can create a WordPress filter using the gtm4wp_compile_datalayer filter name and add the number of characters to the data layer on your own.
