Blog post grid (featured) image problem
-
I recently switched to the OceanWP theme. With my previous theme the Featured image was a certain size (950px x 425px) and so most of my posts have a cropped image of that size for the featured image.
On my site now, with OceanWP, I have a page for the blog posts, which I edit using Elementor. There is a Section with a Grid of Posts, three columns and five rows. (I think those are all the right terms and the relevant info.)
For a while everything was fine. I think the Theme automatically filled the thumbnail tile with the featured image and things looked ok.
Then I screwed something up. I am not sure what. I tried setting new (bigger) default image sizes, regenerated thumbnails, and installed the Smush plugin to optimize images.
Somewhere in there I seem to have introduced a problem with the thumbnails. Now the ones that have that 950×425 Featured Image have white bars above and below the thumbnail image.
I was going through every single post – AGAIN – and replacing the Featured Image, when I realized there was some strange behavior: if I just barely resize the browser window, all of those thumbnails suddenly pop into place correctly!
(In the linked examples, all I did was barely make the browser window smaller (or larger, doesn’t matter).)

I’ve tried different browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome – all on macOS) and I’ve cleared the cache. Not sure if this normal, if it’s something I can fix globally, or if I will still have to go through and reset every single Featured image? It seems like it should be a setting somewhere, but I can’t find it.
Thanks for your help!
