Blog Page Templates Do Not Work

    Seams to be a problem with the page templates for Blog and Blog Excerpt.

    I’m running shell lite Release: 1.0 and WordPress 4.0

    When I select the blog excerpt page template I visit my blog page – no excerpts. When I select the Blog template, it does display as a blog..But I notice even if I put text in the box (inside WP admin) it doesn’t display on the page. Along with that, SEO Ultimate should be giving the blog page it’s own meta title..All other pages display this but when either of these templates is selected it doesn’t.

    How to recreate: Enable this theme, make a page, and select the blog excerpt template (make sure you have a couple blog posts added)..then, visit the page and see. Along with that, throw some text into the blog page and update it. Refresh the page and you’ll see the text is not added.

  • Keep in mind that version 1.0 is 3 years old, with the latest version(1.7) Blog and Excerpt page templates are working fine.
    Also the content from WYSIWYG is not used for those pages.

    @stanko – I just checked and actually, it’s very 1.7.0 (According to the Themes portion of WP), and no – your blog page templates do not work, lol. Can you post an example of this here for me to see the blog excerpt pages working on WordPress 4?

    The “Release 1.0” actually came from the code in your actual template page. It appears to me you have it saying 1.7.0 in the WordPress admin section, but Release 1.0 still in your actual code…hmmmmm?

    I love how you’re saying the blog excerpt templates are working fine in v1.7 – I’m guessing you didn’t even try it! lol… Not to mention, you need to update your Release notes in the actual code of the pages a well!

    Also I don’t like your assumption that I didn’t check if the page tempalte isworking before to say so. Feel free to test this, to check the demo page, etc.
