Blog Page Showing Old Content

I’m working on getting my website up and running and keep having an odd problem.
I’m trying to create a separate page for my blog posts to live, so that I can link to it in my navigation bar and have a static home page on the front. Every time I set this up, it doesn’t populate correctly. I’ve created a page called “blog” and set that up in Settings > Reading as the posts page and set the home page to a page I created called “home.” When I click on “blog” it takes me to a weird 404 page with some old design I had in a previous theme, etc. I worked with my hosting and started over with a fresh install of WordPress with no content, no design, zilch. Same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this?
