• I really want to use this theme but don’t want to do a lot of customization. I’m having some trouble with the blog page – in the WordPress settings I’ve opted for only showing an excerpt of each post but the page is showing the entire blog post.

I can’t seem to find any options in your theme that correspond – I chosen the option for a small featured image (which is working) but I also get all images and text.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

I have the same problem, it’s very important for the SEO to fix this.

    Any ideas ?

    Thank you so much.

    Hey Guys,

What I believe the fix is inserting the <!–More–> tag into your post where you would like the post to be cut. Worked for me after digging into the code only to end up on this page explains the the_content() function

hello, I am having the same or similar problem and have pulled my hair out for the past 3 days! My entire article shows on the blog page and on the post page. I tried using the ‘more’ tag but when you click it from the blog page, it goes a bit below my post in the post area! the reader will have to scroll back up to beginning of the post to read it and to see the feature image at the beginning. I guess I could insert the image in the middle of the blog.

The template I am working from is ‘Obsidian’. Here is an example of how another person was able to get the posts and page to work correctly. https://bodiallegiance.com/recent-posts/

If someone can help with an answer (I have already assured that the dashboard–settings–reading– summary options are enabled) that would be great! I think I only have two more strands of hair left!! lol thank you so much!

    Hi @all

    How are you all doing?
Now to limit the post content the simple solution would be going to particular post in Admin Panel and edit as shown here.
Hope this will solve this issue.

    Best Regards!!!

hi WEN, thank you for your answer. yes, that limits the post on the post page. I am aware of that feature. So I am getting the understanding that there is no way…after entering the ‘more tag’…to have the reader not have to scroll back up to get to the top of the article posted on the actual post page. The more tag sends them to the post but not to the very top where my picture is.

but thanks so much any way :).
