• I’m trying to remove the sidebar from my blog page. The custom page template that does this for other pages is not working. It looks like the blog page will only use index.php. I’m not keen on modifying index.php for this one page because it seems central to everything. Is it possible for the page that hosts your blog to use a different page template?
    Thanks!

Is this a stupid question? I looked all over the documentation and it looks like I should be able to use a page template for the blog. I can select the page template when I set up the blog page, but that setting is being ignored. I tested this with different templates, including the default, and I’m not seeing anything about this. If I’ve missed some important document I’d appreciate being steered in the right direction.

    Thanks

I am having the exact same problem but cannot find a solution. Can anyone help?

Why not just create home.php to do what you want to? If this is for your blog’s home page, that’ll be a much easier solution.

For me, it is not for the blog home page, I already have a template for that, this is for a seperate blog page.
