• We host our website on an external server. our internal domain is ssicards.com. we just added blogs to our website. Every other page works fine links and references all use www as to not cause DNS issues. Evidently blog posts are referenced not specifying www, so when trying to access the page internally the default info comes up but where the blog should appear we get a message that the page is unavailable.

I have confirmed it is DNS related 1. it does not happen externally from our AD domain. 2. if i switch to a public DNS it works fine.
that tells me that the actual post portion of the page is specifying www. web developer swears page setup in the database is and actual page are setup with www. so then there has to be a configuration entry some where that does not…Is there are config somewhere that would affect how the blogs are being served up.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Well, I can browse the link just fine. Maybe it’s a cache issue with your device only? have you tried checking your website from a different device where it was not visited before?

yes it is only within our network, but that is expected. it’s not a cache issue, i can turn the issue off/on by using internal or external DNS.

what I need to know is how can i change the reference wordpress is passing to the browser for a specifc blog? right now, for the new blog articles, it must be passing a reference such as ssicards.com/……., we need to change that to https://www.ssicards.com/….. It’s not the page itself but the individual article and how wordpress passes the location for the file back to the client.

it changed when we recently attempted to upgrade wordpress and it failed. My blogs posted before the failed wordpress upgrade works fine, only those after have issues

somehow we have to be able to set the reference to this blog article.

speaking to our web dev she can not specify the location of the articles, but there has to either be a way each article is referenced or a system wide setting/path that it is pulling from. she says she just clicks new blog, is there some where when creating the new blog where you can specify the path for the blog article. i would assume yes or my old posts would not work.
