Oh the madness I’ve put on myself. I hope I can explain this correctly. 1) I deleted the hello-world page, but before I did, I think I gave it the name “blog”. 2) I then created a new page titled Blog (which is the one I want). If I turn static page off, my blog will show up as the index.php, but then I have to click HOME to actually get my landing page. Also, when I click the “blog” theme page I created, it looks good. When I set the Static Page to On, point to my Home Page and Post to my Blog page, my Blog page does NOT look like the theme page I created. It does show my posts, but loses all the formatting.

I’m stuck. I tried renaming, removing cache among other things. I saw a post where someone was able to “copy” their theme blog code into the index.php file and that fixed the problem, but I don’t know where to find the theme code for the blog page I want to use.

Here’s my link: https://www.artmasterminds.com I currently have it set to Static Page Home and Post to Blog.

  • Did you ask https://www.elegantthemes.com? Commercial themes aren’t well supported here.

I went down the path of WP Forums because of the 404 message I started with and the numerous posts that I found here. It didn’t feel like a theme issue as I have other websites using this theme and none of them have had this problem. This was the only one I stupidly removed the “Hello-world” post and page from.

I’ve since decided to remove WP and start all over again. It’s an interesting challenge, but after hours and hours of research, I gave up.

I’m going to mark this as resolved for now.
