Blog page in Course template showing ‘Index of /blog’

    Hi Ben,

    First of all, a Happy New Year to you and hope you are well. Secondly, thank you for creating an amazing theme and equally amazing starter templates – hats off to you from a non-developer.

    I used the ‘Course’ starter template (not the ‘LearnDash Course’) and noticed that the Blog page was showing an ‘Index of /blog’ listing the directory layout of the ‘blog’ folder. FYI, I am on the latest versions of WordPress, PHP, theme and plugin. There were no issues before importing the starter template.

    After a brief digging on Google, I came across this page: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/372372/blog-page-error-index-of-blog

    As per the suggestion, I deleted the ‘blog’ folder from File Manager and the issue was resolved.

    If anyone else has had this issue, it may be worth looking into it as to why the folder was created.

    Thanks for posting, and thanks for the kind words!

    Just want to clarify the starter templates doesn’t create a folder on your server, it just uses the permalink “blog” for the blog page. The folder would have had to have been created before perhaps by your server and when the URL was added for the blog page in the starter template that would have revealed the issue.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    I have been using the Kadence theme all along, but without a starter template before. There weren’t any issues previously with the blog page – only showed up once the starter template was imported, so thought that could have been the issue. However, I hadn’t checked before for the folder existing, so even if it was, the built-in theme blog permalink did not pick it up.

    Glad it is resolved anyway.
