Hello, I am back with another (similar) problem like the one I’ve had before. However, while similar, this time it’s a bit different.

First of all, I can’t follow my WordPress ActivityPub actor anymore at all. It used to work on Misskey but not Pleroma, but now it simply doesn’t work anymore at all. It just keeps freezing on “Request sent”, never going further than that. On top of that, new posts I make on WordPress do not federate anymore at all.

I have refreshed the permalinks on WordPress just like last time, though sadly this didn’t work now. The Webfinger endpoint also seems to look fine, I’m not seeing any errors whatsoever.

Though, in my server logs I did find this:

[warning] Can't find LRDD template in "https://lottev.moe/.well-known/host-meta" (If I need to provide more context for this, I will do so.)

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is related to the problem I’m having, because I don’t know what else it could be.

    The link https://lottev.moe/.well-known/host-meta does return a 404.

I am running the latest version of WordPress.

    Sincerely,
    Lotte V

    Hey Lotte,

sadly your WordPress instance does not answer with JSON when requested with the Accept-Header “application/activity+json”

    curl "https://lottev.moe/author/lottev/" \
    -H 'Accept: application/activity+json'

That might happen, if you use a caching plugin, that does not differentiate between Accept headers for requests.

I am so sorry, ActivityPub has some tricky requirements, that might not work on some Shared-Hosting envs ??

Can you tell me where you host?

My WordPress site is hosted on DigitalOcean. I could check to see if there’s a caching plugin causing the problem.

EDIT: I have disabled all my plugins except for ActivityPub, NodeInfo and Webfinger, but the problems seem to persist. I really have no idea what causes this, it worked fine before…

Hello, it’s me again. There’s some minor progress in that my blog federates with Misskey again. Still no dice on Pleroma instances sadly, and I’ve tested several instances.

Update #2: More progress, but still a bit of a downer. The good news is that my posts seem to federate, but the bad news is that I still can’t follow the blog actor on Pleroma (again, tested on multiple instances). Instead, it keeps stuck on “Request sent”, sometimes being able to cancel but other times not.

I am marking this thread as resolved. Not because the problem is solved (it only half-is) but because I think this is a bug with Pleroma and not the plugin. I have tested it on Mastodon with a burner account and it works fine, same with Misskey as I’ve said before.
