Wow, 101 errors!

A lot of this code was automatically added by WordPress (i.e. for the youtube embeds). It seems like I might be using the wrong doctype. I am using XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Can you suggest a better one? I will work on fixing most of the errors and post back here.

XHTML 1.0 Transitional is about as lax as it gets. And YouTube embeds don’t create missing and broken table and list tags ??

The doc type doesn’t have much to do with it. You started with a plain theme and added tables, which can cause problems. And some of the errors are very simple, like the “align” atributes and missing li tags. But errors cascade, so when you fix one, several others will fix themselves.

I fixed a few errors and got the opposite result, more errors somehow popped up. I tried my site again in one of the problem browsers and it worked. I will still work on cleaning it up.

I don’t understand how the li tags broke, since I didn’t change any of that code.

Based on my experience, some codes run differently in IE and FF. It is best to test it using the commonly used browsers before uploading it. Since you can install 1 IE on your operating system, you can try installing another OS on a virtual machine using another version of IE.
