    How do I migrate the content from an existing blog hosted on wordpress.com over to my new blog that is hosted on my own server?

  • on .com blog go to
    admin – manage – export
    do what is required
    save file to desktop

    on new .org blog go to
    admin – manage – import
    select file downloaded from .com blog

    should do it
