• Hi there–

So far I’m loving this plugin!

I’m wondering if you can help me identify or solve this problem. I have my client’s site’s homepage set to be a static page–using one of the alternative layouts that allows for widgets beneath content.

The blog is a separate section of the website. And in settings > reading, I have the main blog index set to be a static page (“Blog”). Unfortunately, the Blog index page is using the homepage layout–even though in that page’s own settings, I have tried selecting a “blog” template. I’ve also tried assigning it a different template within the Alternative Layout settings for the page. Either way, it still insists on using the same layout as the static homepage. Any idea why or what the workaround could be?

    Many thanks.

I am having the same problem. I am using Genesis simple sidebars and have the primary sidebar on the home page (below the content) so I need to have a specific sidebar for blog posts. The problem is that this plugin uses the layout you choose for both the front-page.php & the home.php templates (home.php is is what is used for the blog page if you are using https://yoursitename.com/blog.

I either need a new layout for ‘secondary under content’ so that my blog page displays with the primary in the correct position, or we need to be able to remove home.php from the plugin.
