Blog in subdirectory . Recent Posts in root

    I am about to install wordpress in a subdirectory, say, mysite.com/blog.
    But I want to display recent posts in the blog on my homepage i.e
    at mysite.com.

    Is this possible? If yes, how?
    I know I am a novice but I want to try this out. And a big thanks to all you people for your support.
