I have my main menu working the way I would like, but when I click a menu option to go to another page, the ‘blog’ menu item is inserted in the menu.

Is there a way to remove/suppress this?

    Thanks!

  • Hello @therustyfox,

    Thank you for reaching out,

Can you please share the screenshot or live URL from the issue?

If it is a page title, there are 2 ways to hide the page title:

    1. Customizer:
To hide it from the whole website please navigate to WP Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > General Options > Page Title and hide it:
    https://postimg.cc/nCzZZzG2

    2. On specific pages:
    i. Please navigate to the backend of your desired page.
ii. In the top right corner, click the “O” icon to open the OceanWP Settings.
    iii. Open the “Header” tab.
iv. Under “Display Top Bar,” ensure it’s set to “Disabled.”

    I hope it helps.

    Hello Shahin,

Thank you so much for your response. Neither of those options worked for me (though I did learn some things I didn’t know before).

Here’s a more detailed explanation of the change I’m trying to make. (Basically we want to turn off the blog, at least temporarily).

The main page has this top menu section:

This matches my menu layout from the dashboard. ‘Blog’ does not appear. But if I click one of the menu options (‘About, ‘Investments’, etc.) the page appears, and the main menu changes to this:

And now ‘Blog’ has been inserted into the main menu. I would like that to NOT appear.

One other note: There’s an ‘Employees’ menu option that logs in/logs out website users. If a user is logged-in, the ‘Blog’ menu will NOT appear. But if they’re logged-out (like anyone who came across the site while surfing) then the ‘Blog’ menu option DOES appear.

    Suggestions?

    Russell

    Hello @therustyfox,

    Thank you for reaching out,

It seems you are using a custom header template, would you please share a live URL from the issue?
I’ll use inspect elements to check the page source on your website to find the reason for this.

    Just for your information:

    1. If you are using a different header menu, then you can disable it, or set it to the default option in OceanWP Settings — the “O” icon.

    2. If you are using custom code for the header or a custom template for the header, check its settings and ensure the main header is assigned to the whole of the website or that specific page.

    3. If you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes. Also, remember to click on the regenerate all assets file and data in Elementor > Tools(if you have Elementor).

    Please keep us posted.

    Shahin,

If I re-create the pages that are causing problems, everything seems to work. So I’ll just delete the ‘bad’ pages.

If you want to have closure with this issue (LOL), here’s the live link: https://montgomeryenterprisesinc.com/

In the menu, there’s an old page menu item ‘About’ , and a new page menu item ‘About Us’. If you click the first one, the menu changes and ‘Blog’ appears. The second link doesn’t have that problem. Something is obviously different about that page, but I don’t see it.

I’ll leave this menu item in place until tomorrow, then I’ll delete it, and mark this item resolved.

Thanks for your help! I learned a lot more about the system while working through your suggestions.

    I appreciate it.

    Hello @therustyfox,

    Thank you for reaching out,

We have not received any similar reports so far, and we can not reproduce that issue on our end.

The only way to resolve this is to ensure that the menu you’ve set for the pages is the default one: https://postimg.cc/JG1psxbj. If it didn’t help you, try your solution and create another page and add that page to the primary menu.

    I hope it helps.
