Blog excerpts wordpress not showing.

I’ve just published my first blog.

When you click on the blog page (link below) it shows a lot of the blog copy before the ‘read more,’ part….which doesn’t look very good.

I watched this video (below) about adding excerpts, which I think means the blog home page will just show a short preview of the post. So I have added the first sentence into the excerpt section on my post..but it’s not done anything.

Can anyone help with this or tell me what I am doing wrong?
