    Hi.

I recently made a lot of changes to my blog as i shifted the hosting services, theme etc.

While i was making some changes, i noticed that the pages weren’t scrolling smoothly but ignored it considering some flaw because of a rogue plug-in. I finally set up the landing page, and disabled all unnecessary plug-ins but the blog still lags considerably when scrolling.

Interestingly, the blog works smoothly on Internet Explorer, Safari. The blog even works smoothly on mobile browsers and Chrome for iOS. Somehow the problem occurs only when viewed on Chrome for Windows/Mac. I have tested opening the website on my friends’ Laptops and Macs and the problem persists.

Other websites using the same theme work smoothly, even the localhost installation works smoothly on the same browser.

Any clue what may have gone wrong?

try deleting all unnecessary plugins rather than just deactivating them, they can still make your site behave badly when they’re inactive.

if that doesn’t work get in touch with themeforest as it’s one of their themes that not working in the browser…

So i tried several things, but nothing worked. i tried
    – uninstalling plugins
    – finding other themes which could serve my purpose
    – resetting all default settings

Eventually, for various reasons, i resorted to the following
    – Made a backup of my blog
    – Deleted my blog and cancelled my webhosting service.
    – Got a basic hosting plan instead of a managed wordpress
    – moved one step at a time while installing wordpress i.e.
    1. install wordpress, check everything is working smoothly
    2. install theme, check again
    3. make modifications to the theme, check again
    4. install key plugins, check again
    … and so on

    Eventually it worked.
Now i follow this rule –

Every time i make a setting which will change the core blog files like
    – the way my blog is displayed
    – new plugin install
    – any writes to .htaccess etc

i wait for at least an hour before i make subsequent changes so that it is easier to track the cause of the problems.

I did face two more problems on my way to setup my blog, but luckily found my way out. thanks to support forums for that.
