Blog Display for Download Page

Hey, I have some php, css, and html experience, but I definitely not a developer. My question is this. When I create a new download it creates it in a blog post type page. The majority of my site is static pages. I do have a blog, but I want my download pages to follow the same php and css rules as my static pages. How can I edit the plugin so it always creates new pages with the same rules as all my other non blog pages?
