blog disappeared after permalink change

  • I have searched the forums and cannot seem to find a specific answer for this.

    Working with the site https://www.verydesignersblock.com, in:

    options / permalinks, I changed the setting from “Default” to “Date and name based”
    As soon as I did this I clicked “view site” and the whole site has disappeared and the forbidden 403 page appeared:

    Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

    Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    It is only accessible from through FTP or phpmyadmin.

    Does any one know why this has happened and how I can resolve it?

  • Delete the .htaccess file in the wordpress directory on your server.

    Delete the database entry “permalink-structure” in the “options” table in your wordpress database.
