    Hi,

Finally I decided to try out WordPress. I am having trouble accomplishing what I really need. I already have a static site with a couple of different sections and they are called: “Home”, “Lab”, “Resources” etc. all in its own directory under root except for “Home”, which is just an index page.

I installed wordpress in a separate directory called “blog” under the root directory. I have also played with the default theme and was able to make it look exactly like my entire site by changing the CSS (still more work needs to be done) and modifying the header and footer.

At this point what I wanted to do is add the sidebar from the blog to the other static pages, that are outside of wordpress installation. I also wanted to add excerpts of may be one or two latest posts in the home page(outside of the blog installation directory).

I hope I was able to explain what I’m trying to do. Could you suggest anything? I know I can manually get all those information from the database, but is there anything else you can suggest? How would I call the template tags from outside of wordpress installation? Is there any way at all? Something like calling <? get_sidebar() ; ?> in other static pages that are outside of wordpress installation.
