I was attemtping to add a highly recommended registration form to my WP blog. I was supposedly following instructions and added a code at the end of the theme … when instantly after submitting, the blog literally disappeared. Everything associated with the blog vanished. Any takers to help out here?

  • Using FTP or Cpanel, find your active theme folder in the themes folder and rename it – that should force WP to use a default theme and let you login again. Then you can reinstall the theme – minus whatever modifications you made or tried to make.

I’m now on cpanel>Fantastico>Wordpress>wordpressid is showing>go to visit site> blank screen in browser.
Any further help appreciated locating “active theme folder”

cPanel should have an app called File Manager available, and there is where you would “explore” a bit to look for a path ending with /wp-content/themes/ where the folders for all themes are located inside that /themes/ folder. At that point, you can either rename the folder for your current theme to deactivate it or just delete-and-replace (using an original copy) the theme file(s) you had modified.

Tried but cannot find WP anwhere bar “WPthumbnails” images. Which Directory do I select in File Manager? I attempted a couple but none of them make sense as far as WP goes.

Which Directory do I select in File Manager?

My own directory tree begins with /home/accountname/, then there are a few folders with (dot)names, and then I soon arrive at public_html where WordPress is installed. If necessary, contact your host and ask where to find yours where you will find /wp-admin/, /wp-content/, /wp-includes/ and several .php files beginning with wp-(filename.php).

I am switching from WP.com to WP.org and hosting my domain on Blue Host. My WP files are on Blue Host, but when I try to import them into WP.org, they are not importing. I am not getting a “complete” message, I’m getting a page where it has a list of all my media and it says that the media files already exist. So now my blog looks like this: https://willrunforpizza.com/

@willrunforpizza: Please start your own thread since the help you need is completely different from mjming81’s situation.

That is not even possible, but start your own thread and please offer as many details as you can.

    ok thanks.
