Blog comments box has disappeared?

  • All of a sudden my comments box has gone and is replaced by the words Leave a Comment. When I clicked on this, I got an error message.

    What I did: I noticed the Permalink ended in numbers so I deleted those and changed it to the name of the post and that ended the 404 message BUT the box still did not return. I see the box when I click on Leave a comment but I want the comment box to display as it did before.

    I think the problem might be solved. Correct me if I’m wrong.

    I added a “read more” button halfway through the post and when I click the read more the comment box shows up at the bottom.

    Is this because the post is too long?

    This is weird. I just got the shortcode to post somewhere and when I tested it I went directly to the page which displayed the full post (no ‘read more’). Now I’m really confused.
