Hi, running Ubuntu, upgrading 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 hoping it’ll fix some minor issues I’ve been having. At first I didn’t see the “special instructions” and just overwrote everything. Saw an “Internal Server Error” trying to get to my login page; didn’t try viewing the actual site before I realized my error, restored my backup of 2.0.3, and tried to do it properly, leaving wp-config and the content folder alone.

I’m still seeing the Internal Server Error when I try to access wp-admin, and my site shows up as raw content with no theme attached (www.puredoxyk.com). Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    PD

  • It’s a permissions problem.

Access to your theme files and plugins is forbidden, which is why your getting unstyled content.

This Codex article gives some idea of what your permissions should be.

I should have known; I always have permissions problems with this server. I upload things one way (755), they get changed to another, and I have to go through every single folder and manually change them back, apparently. (For others who might read this, I had to make sure ALL the permissions in ALL the wp-content and wp-admin folders were correct per the Codex link.)

    It’s working now, though; thanks!
