Blog and Photoblog in One

I currently have two websites; one a regular blog and one a photoblog. I’d like to consolidate the two into one page What I’d like to do is have the two be on a single page but still remain completely seperate. Rather than just post the photos with a certain category to ‘seperate’ the photos from the normal posts, I want to keep them seperate in case I ever want to pull the two apart again. Is there any way to do this without crippling the features like comments, archiving, etc…with wordpress.
