Blockquote adding lines in editor

  • Whenever i’m writing a new post in wordpress and I add a blockquote it doesn’t just add
    < blockquote ></ blockquote >
    it adds to lines before and after as well, which is annoying as I then have to remove these lines.

    I’ve done a search for blockquote and it seems to appear in quite a few different files I’ve looked at the tinymce code, but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.

    Is there a quick and easy fix for this? I presume its a case of <br />’s being included in the replace function somewhere, but like I said, I couldn’t see where.
