Good morning! After recent updates to WordPress core files and themes, the code snippet I grabbed from your support forum is no longer working to block URLs in text fields:

    https://wpforms.com/developers/how-to-block-urls-inside-the-form-fields

When this was working, it was in a child theme functions.php file. I’ve tried using plugins to insert snippets into the header/footer to eliminate my coding as the issue. Neither troubleshooting step worked.

I’m currently using Neve Pro from themeisle.com for all my client sites, and WPForms Lite. The critical error is now happening on all sites, so I disabled the code snippet for the time being to allow form entry.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks for making the time!

  • Hi Scott,

I am sorry to hear about the odd issue you are facing here!

When you get the cache, could you please make sure the WPForms Lite plugin is updated to the latest version . I quickly checked the dev doc and it works fine [screenshot]

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for responding! I’ve followed the instructions in the doc for using a plugin to insert a php code snippet, and it doesn’t seem to be working on this site:

    https://marketyourcraft.com

The contact form is at the bottom of the screen. In Chrome it submits with URLs in the text field, and with Brave it throws the attached error. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks for your time.

    Hi @scottkolbe,

I apologize again for the trouble you’re facing and we’d like to investigate this issue further. However, this will require a more extensive troubleshooting where login access to your site will be needed which does not conform to the rules of the www.remarpro.com support forums.

Please consider upgrading to a paid version of WPForms, as it includes a dedicated email support channel where our support team will be able to take a closer look at issues of this nature.

In case it helps to know, we have a refund policy where if over the first 14 days decide WPForms isn’t a good fit, then we’ll happily refund 100% of your money. No questions asked.

Thanks so much for the response! I saw your test form entry – glad you were able to confirm that the snippet code isn’t working the same in mine, and my clients’ environments, as it does elsewhere. At this point, none of the 5 sites I manage need more functionality than basic forms, so the Lite version is right for us. I don’t believe that upgrading only to have the ability for the Dev team to investigate an issue others may be having is the right path for me at this point. I will continue to test on my side, and perhaps others who raise similar questions might prompt a broader look at the issue.

Cheers, thanks again for your time and your support. Make it a good weekend.

You can close this ticket if you wish.
