When I first installed the plugin, automatic blocks were happening for bad login attempts. I could see the blocked IPs under Firewall > Blocking.

Two days later, all blocking stopped. The report says “No blocks are currently active.”

How do I get blocking to start again?

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please confirm that you have had people blocked in live traffic?

The blocking page only shows people who are currently blocked.

If you never made the original blocked users blocked forever, they would have been unblocked by now.

I hope this clears it up!

    Thanks,

    Joshua

Thanks I see blocked users in live traffic. Should I make those blocked forever instead of only 12 hours? What’s a good option here?

Also, I read that it’s a good idea to block anyone who tries to access xmlrpc.php because it’s a hacker. Should I add that somewhere in Wordfence? And do you agree?

    Hi @shockman

Its really up to you, I recommend blocking for a few days rather than forever as some user may be legitimate.

Blocking anyone to xmlrpc.php isn’t the best idea as some good bots and other applications need access to it, if you block everything things can break

    Thanks,

    Joshua
