Blocking proxies

    Is there a consistent and reliable way to block users hiding behind proxies from accessing your WordPress site though Wordfence? I’ve seen indication of this in its settings, but I’m uncertain about how to best proceed.

    Does anyone have any advice about how to block proxy IPs via Wordfence or any other plugin, for that matter? Any info would be much appreciated.

  • Currently we don’t offer a way to do that. I can suggest adding an option to block users who have certain IP headers that indicate a proxy but then you might get someone using proxies for less nefarious uses, like privacy or getting around work firewalls – not that I have ever done that before ??
