Hi! I’m using the Complianz plugin for 2 different websites. I spent hours trying to block google maps before consent on https://xn--skolfreningenvxa-8nb82a.se/, but now I have implemented the plugin on the website https://beliva.se/ with what I believe to be the same settings. But google maps is being automatically blocket before consent on the latter, and I don’t understand why the first is not doing the same.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Jonathanaug,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

The behaviour I can see happening on the two domains you’ve mentioned does not correspond with the description of your issue I’m afraid. Opening skolf?reningenv?xa.se in an incognito browser, without providing consent does not return a Google Maps widget, whereas the same behaviour on beliva.se does return a Google Maps widget for me.

There are many different ways of integrating a Google Maps widget, which all use different configurations and/or scripts which then means that you’re required to prior-block other specific scripts. For a general guide on how to debug these issues please visit this page: https://complianz.io/debugging-google-maps/

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for the response, I will check out the debugging guide!

But to make sure we understand each other, I will attach links to two images showing the different websites.

First Beliva: https://ibb.co/GVcS3bF this shows a text telling you to accept marketing cookies.

Then Skolf?reningen V?xa: https://ibb.co/gm6H9rV which shows the google maps immediately, which I would like to avoid.

Beliva is made in Elementor Pro while Skolf?reningen V?xa is made in Divi, could that be related to the problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jonathanaug,

I’ve understood the issue now, thanks for the extra details. On https://beliva.se/ I can inspect the element and notice the Complianz Placeholder script, while I do not see that on https://xn--skolfreningenvxa-8nb82a.se/kontakt/

I would kindly ask you to check the settings for Skolf?reningen V?xa under Tools -> Placeholders and see if those settings match with your other domain.

In case that it might be useful, here you can find an article on how to add a placeholder to an iFrame: https://complianz.io/placeholders-for-iframes/ and an article on how to adjust the Google Maps placeholder itself: https://complianz.io/changing-the-google-maps-placeholder/

Thank you for the help! I’ve found the issue. I was using the Divi custom code widget for the map on skolf?reningenv?xa.se. But when I instead tried the Google maps widget that fixed it.

However I do prefer the look and functionality of the map inserted with code. I’m having a lot of trouble trying to implement the same placeholder on the code-variant. I am trying to follow the instructions but get stuck.

You can see both versions of the map on https://xn--skolfreningenvxa-8nb82a.se/test/. Do you know how I could get the placeholder on the one with code?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jonathanaug,

My apologies for the delayed response. When I check your reply and previously given data it seems that the issue is fixed already. On your test domain https://xn--skolfreningenvxa-8nb82a.se/test/ I can see the placeholder being active especially for the Maps widget placed with Divi. It’s the same placeholder as on the https://beliva.se/ domain.

Based on your message “when I instead tried the Google maps widget that fixed it” and “However I do prefer the look and functionality of the map inserted with code. I’m having a lot of trouble trying to implement the same placeholder on the code-variant.” it thus seems to work as your test environment shows the placeholder correctly on the Divi code Maps widget.

Thank you for the response! It is correct that the placeholder is working on the divi maps widget. However it is not working on the code widget, which I think looks and works better than the maps-widget. I believe that the placeholder of the maps-widget is covering the code widget as well in the screenshot you sent. I am wondering if there is any way to put a placeholder on the code widget? ??

    Hi Jonathanaug,

You can try manually blocking the second iFrame under Complianz -> Integrations -> Script Center -> Block a script, iframe or plugin. But if this doesn’t work either, there’s a possibility that the iFrame is inserted with JavaScript, so after the Cookie Blocker has already parsed the page, and it’s not blocked as a result as it wasn’t on the page yet at that time.

    Hopefully this helps.
