Blocking cookies

    Hello!

    Thanks for that great plugin! I′ve setup the settings for the cookies but they still load in the frontend when visiting the page. I think they have to be blocked without the acceptance of the user.

    This are the cookies:
    – _pk_id.1.5429
    – _pk_ses.1.5429
    – bp-activity-oldestpage

    I think they are generated from plugins like BuddyPress, etc.. So I don′t know how to block them. A function like is_allowed_cookie( $cookie ) does not help in this case I guess – or where should it be placed?

    Sorry to hear the texts don′t meet the quality standards. I′ve really done my best to translate the strings – and it took some hours to translate all 247 texts.

    As I wrote before: I don′t have an account at Slack and don′t want to have an other social media account – I really get enough input every day and have to limit this.

    My intention was to translate the texts for the community so that everyone can participate. Now it seems this is not wanted and I can′t get access to the texts by downloading po/mo-files. So I will use Loco Translate next time so that I do not have any disadvantages myself.

    This is not the case.
    We are happy about every translated plugin. But in order to keep up a good WordPress experience for all German users across all projects, the community has spent many many dozens of hours in setting up rules and style guides which describe how we want projects to be translated in a consistent way. Now if you don’t know these rules, that’s okay. That’s what we are trying to change by inviting you to our community.

    Unfortunately, as you do not want to hear about these rules or don’t want to talk about the reasons WHY we rejected a lot of you strings, there is nothing more to say.

    No one ever mentioned the rules before! And I never wrote I don′t want to hear or talk about them. All I said was that I don′t have and don′t want a Slack account.

    Unfortunately, it does not seem to be desired to contribute to the community – in any case, everything seems very complicated and bureaucratic.

    I did. And did you read, what is explained behind the links in my previous post? These are not only rules, but a lot of explanations.

    We are following the global rules and recommendations of www.remarpro.com. We have language related special rules for grammar and spelling. That’s all.

    Although it is explained under the links: We check strings before they are released among other things to avoid spam (or would you like to see obscene words, etc. appearing on your website?) And we pay attention to correct German, because WordPress is very often used in the professional area.

    You don’t have to sign up with Slack, but you should consider Style Guide (incl. special page) and Glossary in your translations (especially the correct spelling of composites, Stichwort: “Durchkoppeln”). Reject your own strings that do not comply with these rules and submit a corrected translation.

    By the way, these are the rules of Duden, in rare cases, for optional rules, we have given a consistent spelling (for reasons of consistency and better readability).

    And then you have to wait, unfortunately, we are only very few active people (less than 10) with global permissions to approve strings. And we all do this in our spare time.

    Edit: Btw. I just looked at some of the rejected files (the first page, don’t have that much time). The most frequent mistake there is that you have written the formal address (Sie) where the informal address (Du) should be. And second, sometimes it is helpful to copy original strings, some strings are missing the return signs.

    Yes, you did mention the rules – today!
    The translations are from 2018-04-07 – today is the 2018-04-23.

    Both the author and I tried to reach someone from the translations team because nothing happened. There′s a link “Dieses Plugin wurde noch nicht auf Deutsch übersetzt. Hilf mit, es zu übersetzen!” on the plugins page – that′s what I did. I tried to help.

    I do not think there have been any gross mistakes in my translation and if so, I’m sorry.

    I really do appreciate you all for trying to help out.

    @deeluuxe, if you need the plugin translated into German but are not willing to create a Slack account, you can always do this using LOCO. Sorry that the process you followed is not automatic. We do need to have editors reviewing stuff since I don’t speak German to approve it for you.

    Sorry that this is causing some frustration for you.
