Blocking Bots

  • Hi,

    Plugin works great but it does seem to be blocking some bots. Google Analytics is being blocked on some days and then not on others. Additionally, I use SEM Rush to test the site and whenever the Age Gate plugin is active, the bot only sees the Home page and the Sitemaps.

    Is there a way to allow the bots to pass through?

    Hi @macleroy,

    Oddly I’ve had two requests for this on the same day!

    On the bots front, I’ll look into getting the tests updated.

    For Google Analytics, I don’t think that will be age gate related as it’s triggered via JavaScript. GA can be blocked by a user opting out or even by adblockers. I will test it just in case but suspect that’s another issue.

    Just to update you on this, and update is coming that has more bots by default, but will also allow you to set any yourself if there’s something you want to bypass.
