blocked from wp-hackers list?

I had an email this morning telling me I’d been unsubscribed from the wp-hackers list and when I tried to log in to the list administration page was told I had an ‘illegal email address’. WTF? I may not be an active contributor, but I lurk because it’s pretty much the only way to keep track of any changes in theme implementation or when the next release is out. In any case, surely nobody should be unsubscribed without the whole request-confirmation of request-validation of request-confirmation of unsubscription cycle?

Has this happened to anyone else, or was I singled out?
