You’d need a security plugin to block those requests. I’d recommend installing one of WPBeginner’s recommended security plugins like Sucuri – https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/best-wordpress-security-plugins-compared/

You can also filter them out of your Google Analytics data by following the steps in this article – https://blog.sucuri.net/2015/07/malicious-google-analytics-referral-spam.html

Just wondering about if these plugins are really effective.
I see in the comments of each one some bad review…some really bad…so…I usually take plugins that has close to zero bad review.
There is something in WP security environment that is really top notch?

I’m afraid that I don’t have any personal recommendations. The plugins on that list are the largest and most established security plugins for WordPress though.

I was looking for some resources about WP security checklist or must read WP security article.
If someone has something to share, please do it! ??

Hey guys,
observed the same issue on my site and stumbled over your discussion here.
It looks like this was a more or less general attack of some bad guys doing bad stuff. At least thats what I asume after reading the report on here: https://www.ovrdrv.com/blog/spam-bot-traffic-google-analytics/

Yes a general spam analytics attack that google’s spam team fix since them, but the datas are still wrong for jaunary and february 2021.

I did not try to set up filters to get the true trafic. Did you ? i have been told by a french seo expert that these filters must never be set on the original view, but on a copy ?

The other solution is to wait march to get back to a normal way…
