Block type Gallery: Images won’t open in a carousel

WordPress doesn’t have any carousel functionality built-in.

What plugin are you using to provide the carousel?

None, but at least according to this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/gallery-block/ (at the bottom part of the page) the option “Media file” will open the images in a carousel: “This loads the images in a full-screen carousel, which your visitors can go through one image at a time.”

That’s a support document for WordPress.COM. ??

To use the Carousel described there, you’ll need to install the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/carousel/ (Jetpack specifically brings built-in WordPress.COM features to self-hosted www.remarpro.com sites like yours.)
