Block Spam Comments?

  • Hello Everyone

    Have one person that keeps spam posting our blogs with comment links to junk websites. I have the IP address, just not sure if or how to block it?
    I know we can cut off the comment box, but prefer not to do that.
    Is there a setting for this?

  • Do you have Akismet running?

    In settings->discussion, at the bottom you have a comment blacklist, which I believe accepts IPs, if Akismet isn’t working for you for some reason… (Which it really should if the comments are marked as spam)

    Akismet is running and check as good status. Have continued to mark the post as spam, but has not stopped.

    Found the settings under discussion and listed the IP, lets see if this works!
