    Hi,

Over the last 30 days we have received a lot of spam on our WP Forms site contact form. The forms are being approved by clean talk anti spam plugin and we keep report them as Spam. It seems they are all coming from the same source syndicatedsearch.goog/ is there a way to block from the source instead of IP or email address?

    Thanks

    Hello @tbdnycrm,

I looked into the website requests and I see that one of the websites has 0 total requests. Please, reinstall the CleanTalk plugin, the guide is here:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/update-wordpress

Then clear your website cache. Make sure that the website cache is 24 hours or less.

Did it help? If not, please, create a private ticket:

Have you followed my previous recommendations, @tbdnycrm?

I see that the CleanTalk plugin on the website you linked doesn’t use its default settings, thus some parameters are missing. Please, re-install it manually so the plugin will be reset to the defaults. It will fix the issue.

    Did it help?

I just reinstalled and did not change any of the default settings. I’ll know in a couple of days if it worked. Thanks.

    Hello @tbdnycrm,

We have analyzed the requests from your website, and to enhance spam protection, we recommend the following actions:

    1. Enable alternative mechanism for cookies: WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —> set the option “Set cookies” to “Store data in the website database (alternative mechanism)” —> Save Changes.
    2. Enable the CleanTalk JavaScript library: WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Advanced settings → set the option “Use CleanTalk JavaScript library” to “On” → Save Changes.
    3. During our analysis, we noticed that spam requests only contain two words: “no” and “asap.” We recommend enabling stop-word filtering and adding “asap” to the blacklist. The word “no” should not be added, as it may appear in regular messages. Additionally, we recommend monitoring the text and updating the stop word list as needed.

syndicatedsearch.goog is a Google advertising domain where all traffic comes from ads placed on websites, not from search ads. Owners or spammers often click this type of ad from partner sites more actively. We recommend that you read the recommendations for setting up an advertising campaign on Google.

After following these recommendations, please monitor the situation for a few days. If our service has made a wrong decision, please mark the records in your Anti-Spam log and report them to us.

    Thank you!
